It used to be fun sport to surf the AM broadcast band and see what "foreign" stations you could receive. WTIC AM changed its antenna pattern to a figure-8 from sunset to sunrise to protect a station in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. This led to some very interesting listener correspondence. Said Dick Bertel, "I clearly remember playing on the air an audiotape from a listener in Norway. It was a very poor, but nonetheless identifiable, excerpt from Art Johnson’s overnight show, circa 1975, that the Norwegian listener had picked up and recorded off the air."

The station used this QSL card to acknowledge listener reports.
